Harley, John & Merlot

We found Heaven. It's in Virginia near the start of our caravan. It's where dogs roam free. People eat on decks overlooking the Potomac river and relax by the pond filled with Koi and bullfrogs. We were only able to spend one day in Heaven but that's more than most people who never make it to Heaven.
Our Airstream is luckier than us, it will spend 2 weeks in Heaven before we start the Robert E. Lee caravan.

Carolina Crossroads

Thursday, May 10 we stayed at Carolina Crossroads Campground. One of the best on route 95. A little pricey at $21.50 PA rate.

Pine Acres, Aiken, GA

We didn't make much headway on Wednesday. The weather was awful, there were storms all around us. We decided to pull in to a PA campground in Aiken, GA. Pine Acres, is a place that rents trailers and where people live long-term. Even though we had a nice pull-through site with full hook up for $15. It was 5 miles off Highway 20.

The Anderson's

Two days and three nights we spent in the Anderson's yard. We were close to the garage so that we had electric and Frank offered us water but we had some in our tank.
We were supposed to receive our RV mattress at the Anderson's address, since it never made it to our house.

The first day Joan and I went shopping to the Apple store and Joan bought herself an Ipad 3. Then we went on to a Barnes & Noble and I received a shock of my summer, seeing paperbacks at $15.00. Our lunch at "Slices" of calzones with peppers, onions and peppers was excellent and we came back and got 2 more for guys for dinner.

The next day got even better and we went shopping again to Hobby Lobby and a fabric store. That night St. Joseph's Catholic Church hosted the Russian Orthodox Church's choir group "Lyra". They sang church music and some folk songs and sounded like angels. The acoustics in the church are phenomenal. The echo lasts 7 seconds. The church was built in late 1800's for $100,000. It is one of the most beautiful churches I've seen in US.

The mattress never made it to Joan's house and I filed a charge dispute with my bank.

The Anderson's hospitality is heartwarming and I didn't want to leave since Joan had more books I wanted to see and Joan could have used several more lessons with the Ipad. May be on the way back.

May 5, 2012

Here we are in May of 2012. Aquaries has sold in June of 2011. We moved in to our dream home in September of 2011. Now we are off on an adventure of our life. We will circumnavigate the whole country starting in Virginia with our friends Debra and Larry Owens.
But first we must visit some friends and family on the way. We left Saturday morning at 10 am. Saturday is actually a very good day to leave since there is not much traffic, except around Tampa. We docked at a very nice campground 1 mile from I-75 Exit 439, Lee's Country CG. For $16.50 a night.
Tomorrow we are headed to Macon, Georgia to visit our friends Frank & Joan Anderson.
Good Bye house we'll miss ya.
